I saw the video below on a Facebook Archtop Guitar post and thought to myself “that is a Jazz Guitar Beauty!” I contacted the creator of the video, Rich Severson, and asked if he would like to share this beauty with us all. Unfortunately scheduling did not permit him to take his own photos of the guitar before we “went to press” but he did allow me to use his video (thank you Rich) along with some descriptive text from his Guitar College site. If curious, you can find all the specs for the Eastman AR605CE by clicking here.
Jazz Guitar Life would like to thank Jazz Guitarist Rich Severson for sharing this beautiful arch-top with us all! Enjoy 🙂
“Here’s a beautiful Eastman Jazz box. This older 605 offers a deep warm tone with great action (the exact year is unknown). The newer model has changed a few things making it more of a rockabilly guitar than a jazz box. This axe offers a solid mahogany back, sides and top. Rosewood fret-board, bridge, tailpiece and pick-guard. Lots of 5 and 3 ply binding. New tuners, gold hardware. 16″ lower bout 31/2 inch depth. The 25″ scale and 1 3/4 nut width makes finger-style a breeze. Floating pickup with tone controls under the pick-guard leaving top to freely vibrate.”
