Pat Martino – R.I.P.

Jazz Guitar Life laments the passing of the great Pat Martino. He was truly an icon of not only Jazz Guitar but Jazz in general and his legacy will live on for generations to come. And while it would be wonderful to still have Patrick Azzara amongst us, we at least have his recordings and concert memories. For those who have never met him, I hear he was a kind, gracious and gentle man who would give of himself when needed.

Thanks for all that you gave us Mr. Martino. May you now find comfort and peace. Our condolences to his family, friends and the Jazz Guitar Community.

  1. Pat left it as he found it making it clearer and more in touch with it’s beauty.
“It” is and will always continue to “Be”,our common growing connective humanity through his art.
He was an artist for us, an artist for the highest of the ages and most of all a beautiful Soul.
