Jazz Guitar Life “sat down” with the great Jazz Guitarist and Educator Barry Greene to talk about his having gone through open heart surgery, the pros and cons of his BG Video Lesson site, his experience playing with other guitar greats for a Pat Martino Tribute concert and so much more!
It’s a fun, insighful, informative and entertaining interview and is definitely worth checking out! As always, I’d love to hear or read your feedback so don’t be shy! Enjoy 🙂

There are jazz guitarists out there who because of circumstances nobody in the mainstream has really heard of. In more than 10,000 gigs I had the opportunity to play and even record with George Benson Attila Zoller Joe Beck Bob Conti Lenny Breau Duzzy Gillespie Jon Faddis Richie Cole Gary Bart’s McCoy Tyner Bobby Hutcherson Dave Valentin and many more. I have many recordings but only a few on YouTube Spotify and Facebook under johnshafferphd. I’ve been a performer and educator for over fifty years…just thought you might be interested. I’m in my seventies and lived for many years in the Virgin Islands. Downbeat wrote about me in their Nov 87 issue.
Thank you John. I will reach out ASAP 🙂
Take care and all the best.
