Jazz Guitar Life “sat down” with Film-maker, Hollywood editor and Writer Lorenzo DeStefano on the 25th Anniversary of the passing of the great Tal Farlow. Early on in his career, one of Lorenzo’s first film projects was a self-produced and directed documentary on Tal titled Talmage Farlow. It was – and is – a very entertaining, insightful and most candid look into Tal’s life and featured Lenny Breau, George Benson and a slew of other prominent figures in Tal’s life. There was even a CD made featuring both Tal and Lenny playing a local gig together – Chance Meeting – which is worth the price of admission alone! Seeing – and hearing – these two together is a real treat. Lorenzo goes into great detail about the Documentary, the DVD and of course, Tal! Sadly Tal passed away on July 25th, 1988 and as July 25th, 2023 marks 25 years of Tal’s passing, Lorenzo thought it would be a fitting tribute to comemmerate this occasion with a nice chat about Tal and the documentary. He was right!
