So sorry to have read that Rock/Jazz guitarist Jeff Beck has passed away at the age of 78. Like many of us guitarists who stradle the fence of rock and jazz, I had Blow by Blow and Wired amongst other Jeff Beck albums including his Live album with Jan Hammer!
He was indeed a pioneer of rock guitar and as a member of the Yardbirds, he shared the stage holding his own with bandmates, Jimmy Page and Eric Clapton. He also brought a Jazz sensibility to his work culminating in the two sought after Jazz/Rock albums that I mentioned above.
I honestly thought he would hang on for another decade or so.
Condolences to his family, friends and fans world wide.
